I did a lot of classic graff in the 80s. Since the early 90s, I have tested different uses of light in the video. In the early 2000s, I have created this concept "graff video."
The approach is to use the video camera like a spray paint can in the classic graff. Here, the video camera uses light as painting. The canvas is the recording. That is different from what is commonly called the "light graff" which is done with photo cameras. The "graff video" is continuous, with a total immersion with the light, its various components, and its interactions with the environment.

J'ai fait pas mal de graff classique (peinture bombe) dans les années 80s. Depuis le début des années 90s, j'expérimente le traitement de la lumière dans la vidéo. Au début des années 2000s, j'ai créé ce concept "graff video".
Il s'agit d'utiliser la caméra comme on le ferait avec une bombe de peinture dans le graff classique. Ici, la caméra utilise la lumière comme medium. Le support est l'enregistrement. C'est différent de ce qui est appellé communément le "light graff" qui se fait avec des appareils photos. Le "graff video" traite en continu et en totale immersion la lumière, ses différentes composantes, et ses interactions avec l'environnement.
